Overview:
Childs Landscape Contractors, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized MISS Utility & Sales Administrator to oversee the daily management of utility locate requests through the MISS Utility system & delegate bid invitations from General Contractors to our Estimating staff. This role is responsible for ensuring timely processing of tickets, coordinating with field personnel, maintaining compliance with state One Call regulations, supporting safe excavation practices & keeping General Contractor Prequalification's up to date & accurate.
The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and experience working in utility operations, construction, or damage prevention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, review, and distribute MISS Utility locate requests.
  • Prioritize emergency and routine locate tickets to meet regulatory deadlines.
  • Coordinate daily workloads with field locating technicians.
  • Monitor ticket status and ensure on-time completion.
  • Respond to contractor, customer, and utility inquiries regarding locate requests.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within the MISS Utility system.
  • Generate reports on ticket volume, response times, and performance metrics.
  • Assist in investigating damage incidents and maintaining compliance documentation.
  • Work closely with operations, engineering, and field crews to resolve locate conflicts.
  • Stay current on MISS Utility procedures and state excavation laws.
  • Update & manage General Contractor Prequalification's (Compass, Highwire, Etc.)
  • Delegate incoming bid invitations to the appropriate Estimator based on existing estimator workload/bid backlog & general experience.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of administrative or utility industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with MISS Utility, One Call systems, or utility locating is highly desirable.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of underground utility infrastructure is a plus.
